Tractor Driving

The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) require employers to provide adequate training and to ensure that tractors are driven only by employees who have received appropriate training in their safe use, including with attachments and trailers. We offer a variety of Tractor courses suitable for both experienced and inexperienced users. The basic 1-day course will cover the following:

• Machine Preparation and Safety
• Personal Protective Equipment
• Controls and implements
• Observation
• Tractor Handling and Driving
• Safe Stop
.
The course can also be extended to incorporate the following area:

• Hitching/manoeuvring with trailed implements
• Hitching/manoeuvring with mounted implements
• Manoeuvring with a mounted implement
• Driving on Slopes
• Front End Loader
• Fitting and operation of PTOs (not suitable for 13-16 year olds)


We also run a course specifically designed for youngsters with no or little tractor experience to enable them to operate in a safe manner.  The course will incorporate the following:

• Trailer Hitching and Unhitching
• Reversing and manoeuvring with a trailer
