Confined Space Awareness

This ½ day course is ideal for Managers/Supervisors who need to be aware of Confined Space issues, the hazards and safe working, but who will not be required to enter a Confined Space. The course will include the following:

• Current legislation.
• Recognition of confined spaces.
• Dangers associated with these areas.
• Effect on the confined space worker from gases, fumes and vapours.
• Gas monitors and gas monitoring.
• Demonstrations of confined space equipment.
• Demonstrations of escape sets.
• Awareness of pre-entry checks – testing, servicing and calibration of confined space equipment.
• Confined Space safe systems of work and permits.
• Communications procedures.
• Numbers of operatives required for confined space entry.
• Awareness of emergency procedures.
