Food Hygiene


The Level 1 Food Safety Award has been designed to raise awareness of key food safety issues and to provide employees with an introduction to food hygiene. It is an ideal award for employees handling low-risk or wrapped foods (category A), or where you have employees where English is a second language. This Award can also be used to satisfy farm assurance schemes and can be specific to your industry, catering, manufacturing or retail. The course will cover the following points

• Legislation
• Bacteria
• Food Poisoning
• Personal Hygiene
• Refrigerators and freezers
• Disposal of waste food
• Pests in the food premises
• Cleaning procedures


Certification routes can include CIEH, Highfield or an ETA Attendance Certificates
