Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-Cutting

The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) require employers to provide adequate training and to ensure that chainsaws and related equipment are operated only by employees who have received appropriate training in their safe use. We can provide training and assessment to Lantra standard or training in preparation for NPTC assessment for CS30. The course will cover the following:  

• Workshop safety awareness
• Guide bar, saw chain and power unit maintenance
• Re-assembly
• Health and safety features
• Lubrication and fuelling
• Personal protective equipment
• Starting and pre-cutting checks
• Site safety awareness
• Cross-cutting and stacking timber.

This course will be of 2-day duration for beginners and 1 day for candidates requiring refresher training.
