Fire Prevention and Awareness

This course is designed to aid Fire Safety in the work place and enable staff to meet the requirements of the Regulatory Reform Order 2005 (Fire Safety – enforced 2006), and comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act. The course will cover the following points:

• Raise awareness and illustrate the damage and loss caused by fire
• Hazard spotting in the work place and how to avoid the cause of fire
• Action in the event of fire, including how to raise the alarm, evacuation techniques and communication with the fire service
• Extinguisher identification and appropriate type for the fire type
• Effective and safe use of fire extinguishers – demonstration and practice with various types of extinguisher
