Coppicing

This 1-day course is ideal for candidates wanting to gain more experience in restoring, managing or establishing woodland, the course will cover the following:

• Recognize coppice woodland and list tree species that can be managed under this scheme
• Decide on suitable rotation length for the more common species and markets for coppice material
• Access the age of coppice growth, the stocking density of the stand of coppice, and the need for enrichment planting
• Prepare a plan of operation for the restoration of a coppice woodland to include the enrichment planting of new coppice or Standards
